This year’s Futurebuild sees a brand-new addition, with the very first National Retrofit Conference taking place during the event – and we are very proud to announce our position as a key partner and sponsor for 2024.
The conference aims to bring together leaders in retrofit and stakeholders to create a clear and concise roadmap to a better future for all, leveraging the power of collaboration. This creates a ‘coming together’ of those leading way with retrofit and decarbonisation – reflecting why we have become a key partner for the event this year, alongside The Retrofit Academy and National Home Decarbonisation Group (NHDG).
We have always been at the forefront of driving positive social change through the work we deliver throughout the UK, transforming the lives of thousands of people every year through improved living conditions.
That’s the exact message we’ll be bringing to the National Retrofit Conference – demonstrating not only how to deliver the highest quality, most compliant decarbonisation work, but more importantly the difference it makes. Decarbonising homes directly works towards tackling the four main crises of modern Britain – the cost of living, fuel poverty, health and wellbeing, and climate change.
We will be taking a stand at the conference to share our expertise and discuss exactly how we do what we do, and how that drives positive social change across people and communities across the UK.
Our managing director Gary Lawson will be taking part in a panel talk at 2:30pm on Wednesday 6 March, sharing the work we have been doing to deliver retrofit at scale and the impact it has. He will be joined by Matt Hickman of VINCI Facilities, Fallon Warren of Longshurst Group, and Professor Jo Patterson from Cardiff University.
The Retrofit Academy’s awards ceremony will also be taking place on the first day of the event, where we are looking forward to coming together to recognise excellence and outstanding achievements across the sector – as well as defending our title as Retrofit Contractor of the Year.
National Home Decarbonisation Group takeover
Day one of the conference will be held in partnership with the NHDG, so we will be getting involved with the day’s takeover with other group members to highlight our collective work.
Throughout the day, there will be a programme of talks highlighting the NHDG’s the core areas of focus – innovation, skills and policy. In his position as chair of the NHDG, our owner Derek Horrocks will be involved in three of these sessions on Tuesday 5 March:
- 11:30am – Retrofitting Social Housing: Progress and key learnings from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund programme
- 12:30pm – The Policy Roadmap for Retrofit
- 4:30pm – A 10-point plan for retrofit success: Skills, Innovation and Policy
The whole event is set to be a great success and drive the all-important need for collaboration for the greater good.
If you are attending, you will be able to find us at Stand P50A, and we look forward to seeing as many of our collaborators across the sector there – and keep up with our plans across LinkedIn in the run up and throughout the event.
