We are delighted to announce that Sustainable Building Services Ltd (SBS) has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards at the 2025 Building Communities Awards: Employee Development, Refurbishment Project of the Year (in collaboration with Rykneld Homes), and Contractor of the Year.

This marks a further milestone – and year – of continuous recognition, being the fourth year that we have been shortlisted.

Hosted by procurement consortium Efficiency East Midlands (EEM), the Building Communities Awards celebrate excellence within the housing and construction sector. This year, the awards have seen a 40% increase in entries compared to the previous year, highlighting the growing commitment to innovation and quality in our industry.

Our shortlisting in the Employee Development category underscores our dedication to nurturing talent and fostering professional growth within our team. We believe that investing in our people is fundamental to delivering high quality services and achieving our mission of alleviating fuel poverty, improving health and wellbeing, and enhancing living conditions through retrofit efforts.

The nomination for Refurbishment Project of the Year, in partnership with Rykneld Homes, reflects the commitment to collaborative efforts that bring tangible benefits to communities. Our projects aim to support government bodies, local authorities, registered social housing providers, private landlords and individual households in pursuing low and net zero ambitions.

Our Managing Director, Gary Lawson, expressed his pride in this achievement: “Above and beyond is something that we seek to deliver in our efforts to bring energy security to thousands of households.

“This is made possible through the commitment and dedication of our employees who have the captured the heart of SBS and its mission. We are at the forefront of this sector, committed to creating healthier, more energy-efficient homes, while addressing critical issues such as health, cost of living, housing energy security and climate.”
