The government has announced up to 300,000 homes will benefit from home upgrades to energy efficiency next year in a drive towards lower energy bills and cleaner heating of homes.
The government press release quotes Minister for Energy Consumers Miatta Fahnbulleh saying ‘all families deserve the security of a home they can afford to heat.’

Part of the wider Warm Homes Plan, the package centres around the addition of heat pumps to homes, with grants becoming available and the removal of planning requirements for installation.
Additionally, lower-income households, renters, and social housing residents will also receive energy efficiency upgrades including insulation and low-carbon heating. Together, the measures will supposedly save households roughly £300 per year.
